Tallie Lieberman
Writer and Editor

I’m an American journalist based in Tel Aviv with experience reporting around the globe.
My writing runs the gamut from news, science, business and technology to lifestyle, food and the arts and has appeared in The Associated Press, Haaretz-International New York Times, UPI, The China Daily, Time Out Israel, The Beijinger and Telavivian, among other media outlets.
As Health, Science and Technology Editor at Tel Aviv University for the last six years, I have been tasked with one main objective: getting the message of Israel's largest university out in the most effective and compelling way. To this end, I have distilled complex academic research into big picture stories that resonate with industry professionals and mainstream readers alike; written speeches and opinion pieces for members of senior management; prepared presentations and webinars on rapidly changing subjects like COVID-19; and crafted public speaking points for interdepartmental use.
Prior to my diverse marketing and communications work at the university, I served as a news reporter and page editor at Haaretz-International New York Times for five years, English speech writer and media advisor to the Ambassador of Israel to China and print media advisor to the Spokesperson at the Consulate General of Israel in New York.

I hold a B.A. in History from Columbia College, Columbia University, and an M.S. in Development Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). During the Second Intifada, I worked as a spot reporter for The Associated Press and, post-9/11, as a spot reporter and global news researcher at CNN’s New York and United Nations Bureaus.

I am a native English speaker, am fluent in Hebrew and Spanish and have a working knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia.
